– Tourism leaders from across Rhode
Island gathered to celebrate the 15th anniversary
of the Rhode Island Convention Center and
tout the industry’s emergence as a top
economic generator since that landmark event
as part of the Providence Warwick Convention
& Visitors Bureau’s (PWCVB) Annual
Meeting on Oct. 30 at the Center.
“Today is a celebration of the opening
of the Rhode Island Convention Center and
of the 15 years since then. It has been a
time of explosive growth – with new
hotels, a new mall, a refurbished arena, a
bustling airport and a revitalized downtown.
Tourism has changed this state’s literal
and figurative landscape,” said Martha

The official opening of the new Pinelli Marra
Restaurant – Waterplace on
One Financial Way -- will be celebrated June
19th, 2 pm with a festive ribbon cutting ceremony.
Mayor Cicilline will be on hand to officiate,
along with Laurie White, President of the
Providence Chamber and Martha Sheridan, President
of the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors
